Computer Science and Engineering is the design and prototyping of computing devices and systems. Computer Science & Engineering concentrates its effort on the ways in which computing ideas are mapped into working physical systems. Emerging equally from the disciplines of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, as CSE was initially developed as the branch of electrical engineering. Computer Engineering rests on the intellectual foundations of these disciplines, the basic physical sciences and mathematics. CSE is a rapidly growing multidisciplinary field that encompasses real-world complex applications (scientific, engineering, social, economic, policy). High performance computing (HPC), large-scale simulations, and scientific applications all play a central role in CSE.
The department of Computer Science & Engineering has been established in the year 2004 with an initial intake of 60 students. The intake has been increased to 90 seats in 2007. The curriculum of the Computer Science covers all the software and related hardware part of computing, mainly Computer Networks, Artificial intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Bases, Numerical Analysis, Computer Architecture, Multimedia, Graphics and other growing areas in computer science according to the Vivekananda Technical University, Bhilai
